Daru Writes the First 300 Lines
Episode 05 “Daru Writes the First 300 Lines”
Future Gadget Lab Devlog — Building Gadget No.6, the Steins Gate Simulator

11:00 — The Editor Opens
Eleven in the morning, the day the code name “Steins Gate Simulator” was decided.
Daru opened the editor.
“Yappy. Let me start writing.”
He typed the first line — a declaration that would be made for the sixth time in the series.
“`
“`
From here on, everything about Gadget No.6 will fit inside a single file.
The Future Gadget Laboratory’s principle — Single HTML.
Why a Single HTML File?
The director, standing nearby, peered into the editor and asked.
“Sixth time now. Why the same principle every time?”
Daru, eyes still on the screen, answered.
“Because I want to deliver a tangible future. Runs in the customer’s browser only, no data leaves. The reassurance of self-completion in your own hand — that’s the core of Ruruob’s trust.”
80 Lines for the Skeleton, 200 for the UI
The first 80 lines completed the HTML structure and CSS variables.
- Brand color declarations (navy, gold, three Worldline colors)
- Panel structure (same framework as the existing five gadgets)
- Responsive breakpoints
Daru’s fingers moved with rhythm. The “form” cultivated in the five gadgets doubled the initial speed.
“`
A note from the implementation log:
The Single HTML principle is the sixth time in the series, but always fresh.
The constraint “everything fits in one file” focuses UI design.
“`
By the time he passed line 200, the input forms for three Worldlines (α, β, γ) stood on the screen.
At line 300, He Stands to Get Coffee
When line 300 was written, Daru stood up and went to brew coffee.
“The first 300 lines came out surprisingly smoothly. But —“
The meaning of that “but” was not yet known to any lab member.
An unexpected wall was waiting that afternoon.
But in this moment —
only the quiet sound of Daru pouring coffee into his mug echoed through the lab.
The Side Effect of the Single-File Principle
Another discovery on the implementation floor.
“Confining everything to one file focuses the UI. Every time you add one button, you re-ask why it exists. The purity of features naturally rises.”
All five gadgets stood on this principle.
Gadget No.6 will be written on the same principle. — This is the unshakable way of the Future Gadget Laboratory.

Alongside the implementation, another whiteboard rises in the lab.
The trial and error of visualization — how to fit three arrows into one image — begins.
